David has been with SMP since 2005, during which time he has been instrumental in the development and growth of both the core SMP brand and multiple niche sectors across the business. Formerly the Group Business Development Director, he became Group CEO in June 2019 after leading a management buyout from the founding directors.
Leveraging a background in leadership and management consultancy, his strategic leadership style focuses on driving employee performance through engagement, communication, and empowerment. A naturally entrepreneurial individual, he has also pioneered digitisation and innovation projects for the brand, including the launch of entirely new business lines.
